Tell us about your suit

I do not consider it a costume. I consider it a uniform.

My parents taught me to take pride in how I present myself. My time in the Norwich University Corps of Cadets and my years as a college baseball umpire reinforced that lesson: your appearance creates an impression before you ever speak.

I do not consider Santa’s clothing a costume. I consider it a uniform — one that carries both privilege and responsibility. Representing the spirit of Santa Claus deserves the best presentation I can provide.

I have owned a couple of Santa suits over the years, and each has taught me more about fit, quality, detail and authenticity. Every person sees something different when Santa enters the room. A child may see Christmas magic, a parent may see someone they can trust, and an older adult may remember Christmases from long ago.

That is why I feel personally obligated to present Santa Claus with dignity, warmth and careful attention to every detail.
