01Where does Santa Chris travel?

Greater Boston, the North Shore and surrounding New England communities.

Travel within 10 miles of his North Shore base is included in the rate. Beyond that a travel fee applies by distance, and anything over 40 miles is quoted individually. The full travel table is published here — nothing is hidden until you ask.

02How long is a typical visit?

Appearances are booked by the hour, with a one-hour minimum.

There is a field on the request form for the visit length you have in mind. Santa Chris will confirm it — along with your complete price — before anything is booked.

03What happens during a home visit?

“What I bring depends on the people, setting and purpose of each visit. I do not believe every event should receive the same rehearsed experience.”

Before arriving he learns as much as he can from the host. Depending on the event his bag may include a Christmas story, sleigh bells, personalized information or gifts provided by the host.

A child is never required to sit on Santa’s lap or pose for a photograph. More on what he brings.

04May Santa hand out presents we provide?

Yes. Depending on the event, his bag may include gifts provided by the host.

Mention it on the request form so he arrives knowing whose gift is whose, and how each name is pronounced.

05What should we tell him beforehand?

“Names and pronunciations, ages, interests, family traditions, special requests and anything that may help guests feel comfortable.”

Above all, tell him if a child is shy, sensitive or afraid — in advance or quietly at the event. He will follow the parent’s lead. How he handles a frightened child.

06Will Santa remember our children’s names and interests?

Yes — that is precisely what the pre-visit information is for.

07Can Santa visit children with sensory or special needs?

Yes. Santa Chris welcomes children and families of all backgrounds and is committed to creating a patient, inclusive and comfortable experience for children of all abilities.

He has supported Special Olympics, and he will keep a comfortable distance, kneel or sit at a child’s level, and let a child approach when they are ready. Nothing is required of any child.

Yes. Senior living and healthcare communities are among the experiences he offers, as are hospitals and charitable appearances.

“Every person experiences Christmas differently.” An older adult may remember Christmases from long ago — those visits matter to him as much as any.

10How early should we reserve?

Santa Chris is now accepting reservations for the 2026 Christmas season, and prime December dates fill quickly.

The in-person season runs from the Friday after Thanksgiving through December 28, primarily during evenings and weekends. Weekday daytime visits and other arrangements may be available upon request.

11Are the CORI check and insurance documentation available?

Yes. Santa Chris has completed a Massachusetts CORI criminal background check and carries professional liability insurance. Verification and a certificate of insurance are available upon request — there is a checkbox for it on the request form.
